Orly Cool Romance Mini Collection

Cool Romance is Orly's offerings for Spring, and they're absolutely divine. You can see the whole range on beauty bay

With my birthday money, I bought the mini set:

From left to right:
Prelude to a Kiss
Faint of Heart
Jealous, much?
You're blushing

Here are some swatches:

All the forumlas are lovely. They apply easily, and are so glossy. These photos were taken without a topcoat. The first polish I used out of this collection was Jealous, much? I found I had to use three coats of this to achieve full opaqueness, but it was no big deal, the finished result was gorgeous! I think my favourite has to be You're blushing, my kind of colour. I love purple-y colours.

Do you like the Cool Romance collection?

OPI Holland Collection Mini Pack

The Holland Collection is OPI's newest for Spring/Summer. This was love at first sight. I love every colour of this collection, link. I bought this mini set from Beauty Bay for £12.95, who are currently offering free delivery, link.

The colours, left to right:
I Have a Herring Problem
Red Lights Ahead.... Where?
Kiss Me on My Tulips
Pedal Faster Suzi!

Aren't they gorgeous?! Here are some swatches:

OPI's descriptions:

I Have a Herring Problem 'What's that you say? I need to "sea" this shimmery green-blue'
Red Lights Ahead... Where? 'This coral-packed red is the hottest in the district'
Kiss Me on My Tulips 'A smooch-worthy shade of hot pink'
Pedal Faster Suzi! 'This pink-lavender shimmer will have you "wheeling".'

I love all the colours, but my favourites have to be 'Red Lights Ahead... Where?' and 'Kiss Me on My Tulips'. They both were opaque with one coat, however I always do two! Creature of habit! I found that both the shimmers will probably need 3 coats to achieve complete opaqueness. They are so glossy, all photos were taken without a top coat.

Another colour firmly on my 'Lust List' is Gouda Gouda Two Shoes, a gorgeous rose colour. I have no colour like this in my nail varnish collection.

Do you like this collection?

Superdrug Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream

Apologies for the lack of posts recently, I've been quite busy. It's been half term, both my children have been ill (gotta love cleaning up sick!), and it was my birthday on Monday. I had such a great birthday, was spoilt rotten.

Back to the subject. Surprise, surprise it's the Superdrug Vitamin E range :) This time the Nourishing Night Cream.

I really like this, I use this every night after cleansing. The thick and creamy lotion quickly absorbs into my skin and makes it feel instantly hydrated.

It has the same gorgeous scent as the rest of the range. A fresh and clean smell.

The cream really makes my skin feel healthy and moisturised after use and not at all greasy the next day. I have had some night creams make my skin so greasy the next morning. With this cream, my skin feels soft the next morning. I used to get flakey skin on my forehead, but this has completely gone.

I would definitely buy this again.

Do you use Night Cream? Whats your favourite?

Superdrug Vitamin E Exfoliating Facial Scrub

And so continues my series of blogging about this range... (The series was actually unintentional!)

I have to say, this is my least favourite product out of what I have bought from this range. It works well, but I don't really like to use it. It's the consistencey I don't really like. It's a bit runny and messy to use.

They say:
'Vitamin E Exfoliating Facial Scrub uses oatmeal to provide gentle but effective exfoliation, revealing deeply cleansed, soft and radiant skin'

I have to agree with what it says, it is fairly gentle on the skin and definitely does the job. (Which actually makes me wonder why I don't like to use it!) My skin feels pretty tight after using this, so I'd possibly stay clear if you have really dry skin.

Like the Hot Cloth Cleanser it smells gorgeous. A really light, unoffensive smell.

That was short and to the point! Thanks for reading xx

Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser

I have been having such a love affair with this cleanser. I picked this up in Superdrug whilst the Vitamin E range was on offer for 2 for £3.99.  This offer is over, however, the range has a different offer running on 3 for 2- link

This is such a great cleanser. I have combination skin, dry on cheeks, greasy on t-zone and this hasn't been too drying or too oily for my skin. It melts away my make up and leaves my skin feeling so fresh and clean. I noticed after using this for a while, I felt the need to exfoliate much less than what I used to.

The cleanser is thick and creamy and has a lovely scent. It kind of reminds me of holidays and sun cream. A nice, fresh smell.

As the directions say, I wet my skin with warm water and massage this in using small circular movements and use the muslin provided to polish off the cleanser.  The muslin is by no means offensive, but I'm pretty old skool and use a flannel as they're softer to use.

This is how much I need to use to remove my make up at the end of the day.

If you see this, pick this up. It's a great product that works really well. I am yet to try the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish that has been doing the rounds on blogs for a while, so I can't compare it to this. But if, like me, you're looking for something cheaper, give this a try before you go 'higher end'.

NOTD, George Jeopardy

Every time I go to Asda, I start at the make up and beauty isle. I look at the George nail varnish, mess about with a few, and put them back. I never buy one. Anyway, after a bit of a rough week I thought, why not treat myself (Any excuse). It needed to be cheap, I have had a huge car bill this week, and for £1.25 (reduced from £1.75) it was guilt free.

They have a pretty large range, there are so many different colours. Obviously not as large as, say, OPI. But bigger than some. The bottles are identical to No7. The shade I bought is 'Jeopardy'. To me, it's a peachy coral colour. A really lovely shade.

I reckon this would look gorgeous used for a pedi in the summer if you have a tan.

One negative I have is the brush. It made it really awkward to apply. The brush is chunky and rounded, which I struggled with.

I was impressed with the longevity of it. This lasted for 2 and a bit days, it only chipped after me getting my clean on this afternoon :)

All in all, I like it. I'll probably buy more, you cannot complain at the price. There's not many things you can buy now for £1.25. I mean, a loaf of bread is more than that!

January 2012 Favourites

Monthly favourites are my favourite type of blog post. So, I thought I'd join.

1. Marc Jacobs Eau So Fresh as a Daisy: I love this so much. My mum bought me this for Christmas and I have wore it nearly every day since.

2. No7 Completely Quenched Moisturising Body Lotion. I spoke about this here. I have nearly finished this tube now, I love everything about this, it works so well and it smells so luxurious and gorgeous.

3. No7 Cleansing Body Polish. This is my chosen exfoliator right now. I am coming towards the end of this tube and I'm starting to ration it! I will definitely buy this again. I bought both No7 products in a gift set in the January sales for half price, I am so annoyed I didn't buy 2!

4. Boujoris Healthy Mis Foundation. This definitely lives up to the blogging hype I've seen of this. I really enjoy using this.

5. Noveau Mascara. This was in the December Glossybox, I use this every day. It lengthens my lashes so well and stays put all day. I get panda eyes a lot of time with mascaras, but not with this. Definitely a favourite of mine. That's what I LOVE about Glossybox, you use products you wouldn't have used if it wasn't for it being in the box.

6. OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. This has been used a lot over the winter. A great shade any nail varnish lover should have.

7. Simple Night Cream. I spoke about this here, this works great for me. It doesn't make my skin greasy the next morning, which I have had with other night creams I have used in the past.

8. Montagne Juenesse face masks. I am totally loving face masks right now, especially these little sachets. They're all so effective, all great products.

I already have made a start on my February list! I have been using some more great products recently.

Superdrug Vitamin E Radiance Moisture Cream

I have been so torn with this moisturiser. But I've decided now, I like it. Not love, like.

The cream contains light reflective pigments to give an instant glow to the skin. It also claims to give 12 hour moisturisation. I agree to both of these claims, when applied after cleansing my skin looks fresh. A little goes a long way and I don't need to use much more product than pictured below.

However, I wouldn't use this when I'm not wearing make up as my skin looks a bit too 'glowing'. Its a great base to foundation, it gives that nice dewy look, which I really like. It definitely does moisturise my skin all day, but it doesn't get greasy by the end of the day. Even after a day at work, my face wasn't a shiny mess at 6pm.

It also contains SPF 15, which I like. I think its so important to have SPF in make up, as I know I'd regret it later on in my life. Like they say (who exactly are they?!), how you look after your skin in your 20's paves the way for the 30's, 40's, 50's.

I think the reason being so torn with this was that I couldn't just cleanse, apply this and do the school run, like I do most days. I feel a bit too glowy, and possibly I could dazzle the other mums with the light reflecting pigments on my face ;)

All in all, it's good. It smells nice, and works well.
